The Diploma in Chemical Engineering at Mangosuthu University of Technology prepares students to apply mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development, and operational evaluation of systems employing chemical processes — including chemical reactors, energy conservation, heat and mass transfer, separation processes, and fluid mechanics. MUT's programme includes Work-integrated Learning (WIL), giving students hands-on industry exposure that bridges classroom theory and professional practice. Graduates are equipped to register with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as Technician-in-Training and work across South Africa's chemical, petrochemical, mining, and water treatment sectors.
