The BEd (Senior Phase and FET: Technology) at TUT prepares educators to teach Technology, Civil Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, and Engineering Graphics and Design to Grade 7 to Grade 12 learners — practical subjects that develop technical and design thinking skills critical for South Africa's industrial economy. Technology teachers bridge the gap between academic learning and vocational skills, preparing learners for engineering studies, TVET colleges, and technical careers. Students develop content knowledge across multiple technology disciplines alongside evidence-based secondary school pedagogy. The programme includes school-based practicals in well-equipped technology and workshop classrooms.
