Details

The Bachelor of Health Sciences in Medical Laboratory Science at TUT (Arcadia Campus) trains students to analyse human blood, tissue, and other biological specimens to assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Medical Technologists are registered with the HPCSA and work in hospital laboratories, the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS), and private pathology groups such as Ampath and Lancet. The programme covers haematology, microbiology, virology, histology, and blood transfusion science — essential disciplines in South Africa's fight against HIV, TB, and emerging infectious diseases.
