The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at UJ is the foundational professional degree for admission to the legal profession in South Africa, qualifying graduates to practise as attorneys or advocates after completing the required practical training. Students engage with constitutional law, criminal law, contract law, property law, law of delict, commercial law, and legal procedure — developing the reasoning, research, and drafting skills needed for legal practice, the judiciary, academia, or the corporate sector. The Faculty of Law at UJ is consistently ranked among the top law faculties in South Africa and internationally. The Faculty of Law does not accept NCV applicants.
