The Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Information Systems at the University of Pretoria is a three-year degree that trains students in the application and use of computers and information systems within organisations. The broad background in economic and management sciences is combined with information technology to teach students how to design and implement systems for storing and manipulating data in ways that enable informed decision-making. The programme is jointly presented with UP's Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology, and is internationally accredited by ABET's Computing Accreditation Commission — the only such degree in South Africa. Graduates are equipped for IT and business roles across all commercial sectors.
