The Bachelor of Science with Biochemistry and Chemistry at NWU is a three-year degree offered at Mahikeng and Potchefstroom that explores the molecular basis of life alongside the principles of chemical science. Students develop expertise in organic chemistry, metabolic biochemistry, cell biology, and analytical chemistry, building a strong foundation for careers in biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, food science, and medical diagnostics in South Africa. The programme benefits from NWU's well-equipped chemistry and biochemistry laboratories and strong research culture. Graduates are equipped for postgraduate study in biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or biomedical research, as well as direct entry into the South African science and biotechnology industry.
