The Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and FET Teaching (Technical and Vocational Education) at Walter Sisulu University is a four-year professional teaching degree at the Mthatha campus. It prepares graduates to teach technical subjects — including Engineering Graphics and Design, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Technologies — within the Grades 7 to 12 school system. South Africa faces a persistent shortage of qualified technical subject teachers, and this programme addresses that gap by combining deep vocational content knowledge with pedagogical theory and practical school-based experience, producing educators who can inspire and develop South Africa's future technical workforce.
