The Diploma in Fashion at Walter Sisulu University is a three-year practical and theoretical qualification offered at the Buffalo City campus in East London. It provides students with fashion designing and manufacturing skills, combining technical garment construction with design theory and portfolio development, enabling graduates to enter the fashion industry as designers, stylists, or manufacturing practitioners. South Africa's creative economy — centred in Cape Town and Johannesburg, with growing hubs in the Eastern Cape — offers opportunities for graduates in retail fashion, textile manufacturing, costume design, and fashion entrepreneurship. All applicants who meet minimum requirements are subject to an evaluation before final placement.
