Details

The Bachelor of Science in Geology at the University of Limpopo trains students in the scientific study of the Earth's materials, structures, and processes, with a strong emphasis on the economic geology relevant to South Africa's world-class mineral resources. Students study mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and remote sensing, developing field mapping and laboratory skills applicable to mineral exploration, mining, and environmental geoscience. South Africa's position as one of the world's most mineral-rich countries — with globally significant deposits of platinum, gold, chrome, and coal, many in the Limpopo region — creates sustained and well-paid demand for geology graduates.
