The Bachelor of Laws at the University of Limpopo is a four-year professional degree that qualifies graduates for admission as attorneys or advocates of the High Court of South Africa. Students study constitutional law, criminal law and procedure, contract and delict, property law, law of evidence, administrative law, company law, and human rights law — all grounded in South Africa's transformative constitutional order. UL's School of Law hosts the Ismael Mahomed Centre for Human and People's Rights, named after the first black Chief Justice of South Africa, and provides students with practical legal training through legal aid clinics serving the communities of Polokwane and the Limpopo region.

Advocate – Specialises in High Court and appellate court appearances after completing pupillage through the General Council of the Bar, providing specialist litigation services to attorneys and clients.
State Advocate / Prosecutor – Prosecutes criminal and civil cases on behalf of the state through the National Prosecuting Authority, a constitutionally mandated institution central to South Africa’s justice system.
Corporate Counsel – Provides in-house legal advice on contracts, mergers, regulatory compliance, and commercial disputes for South African corporations and financial institutions.
Human Rights Lawyer – Litigates and advocates for constitutional rights, public interest law, and access to justice through law clinics, the South African Human Rights Commission, and public interest law organisations such as the Centre for Applied Legal Studies.
