The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) four-year stream at Wits is South Africa's most direct undergraduate pathway to a legal career, designed for students entering directly from matric. The programme progresses from foundational law (Law of Persons, Family Law, and Introduction to Law) through constitutional law, criminal law, and delict, to advanced professional subjects including Contract, Evidence, Civil Procedure, and Practical Legal Studies. Students also complete courses from another faculty in their first year, broadening their perspectives beyond pure law. Wits law graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers as attorneys, advocates, magistrates, and legal advisors, serving South Africa's courts, government, and commercial legal sector.
