This annual competition recognises outstanding Grade 12 learners who plan to study full-time at the University of the Free State in 2026. Open to achievers across academic, cultural, leadership, and sporting areas, the competition culminates in a final round where finalists stand a chance to win bursaries, prize money, and corporate gifts. The top 25 semi-finalists are selected from entries and must commit to studying at UFS to qualify.

What the Bursary Offers:

• UFS bursaries from Student Recruitment
• Cash prizes from Kovsie Alumni Trust, Absa, Mazars, and Pick n Pay Preller Walk (paid into Absa account in 2026)
• Final round and corporate gifts valued at R15,000
• Two special awards of R5,000 each for excellence in academics, leadership, sport, or culture
• Accommodation and meals for finalists provided (some meals for parents not included)
