The BEd in Senior Phase and FET Teaching specialising in Life Orientation (Psychology) at UJ qualifies graduates to teach Life Orientation to learners in Grades 7–12. The Psychology specialisation equips teachers with grounding in developmental psychology, counselling skills, social skills development, career guidance, and health education — enabling them to support the holistic development of South African learners. Life Orientation is a compulsory subject for all South African learners, and qualified teachers with a Psychology foundation are in demand across public and independent schools.
