The Siemens Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year aims to support South African students pursuing degrees in engineering fields identified as scarce skills. The bursary covers tuition fees, provides allowances for textbooks and accommodation, and offers opportunities for vacation work at Siemens, ensuring that students gain both academic and practical experience in their chosen fields.

Requirements

  • South African citizenship
  • Aged between 18 and 25 years
  • Unemployed
  • Currently in Matric (2024) or have completed Matric
  • Intending to study full-time towards one of the following qualifications in 2025:
    • Bachelor of Engineering Technology
    • Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current) (BEng / BSc)
    • Electronic Engineering (BEng / BSc)
    • Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics) (BEng)
  • Accepted to study at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Achieved a minimum of level 5 for English, Pure Mathematics, and Physical Science in Matric
  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in the current year of study (Matric or tertiary)
  • Passionate about Engineering and Technology
  • Not in receipt of any other funding (NSFAS, bursary, scholarship, etc.)
  • Meeting the registration requirements of the chosen tertiary institution
  • Preference given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds
  1. Required Documents:
    Prepare and upload certified copies of the following documents:

    • ID document
    • Grade 11 final results and Matric trial results (August/September), if currently in Matric
    • Matric certificate, if completed Matric
    • Proof of acceptance to study at a tertiary institution (on institution’s letterhead)
    • Full tertiary academic record, if currently studying
    • Curriculum Vitae
    • Motivational letter supporting your application
  2. Selection Process:
    Eligible applicants will be contacted for a virtual video interview. Successful candidates will be awarded the bursary. If you do not receive any communication, consider your application unsuccessful.
