The Agbiz Centenary Bursary is an annual initiative established to support advanced research in agribusiness-related fields at the master’s or PhD level. Agbiz Bursary Application Form

Requirements

  • Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • Applicants must be registered or eligible for admission to a master’s or PhD degree in agribusiness management-related fields at a recognised South African university.
  • Applicants must have successfully completed a relevant undergraduate degree or be in their final year of an undergraduate qualification.
  • A minimum of 60% must have been achieved in major subjects.
  • Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from their academic supervisor or the head of the department (not longer than one page).
  • A personal motivation (not longer than one page) explaining the need for the bursary and its intended use must be submitted.
  • The academic supervisor or department head must provide biannual progress reports to Agbiz.
  • If the student discontinues studies or shows unsatisfactory progress, Agbiz reserves the right to cancel the bursary and reclaim any disbursed funds, with interest.
  • The student is required to sign a formal agreement after the bursary is awarded.
  • Applicants must declare any other bursaries, scholarships, or sponsorships they are benefiting from, and prioritize the requirements of the Agbiz bursary programme. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
