The Naspers Bursary Programme provides holistic support, going beyond financial assistance to address our students' psychosocial health and career readiness.

The Naspers Bursary Programme will provide academically and financially deserving students pursuing degrees in STEM, commerce, and business sciences with the opportunity to study in the highly sought-after fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as commerce and business sciences, at any recognized South African university. South Africa requires more brilliant minds in these fields, and we want to help the next generation of scientists, engineers, doctors, business professionals, and tech gurus realize their full potential!

Candidates from the first year to honours level are eligible for bursaries.

Financial Support

The bursaries cover the entire cost of the degree for the duration of our student's studies, and they include the following:

  • Tuition costs
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Textbooks that are prescribed
  • A monthly stipend
  • a portable computer (first years only)

Holistic Support

  • Monthly counselling sessions
  • Monthly workshops
  • Career guidance and work readiness training
  • A mentorship programme

Criteria

Applicants must be South African citizens. Preference will be given
to those from previously disadvantaged groups. Their total
household income 
should be under R650,000 per year.

Grade 12 students applying for 1st-year studies:

  • Min 60% Maths (not Maths Literacy) for final Gr 11 results
  • Min 65% overall final Gr 11 results
  • Min 65% overall in June examinations

First-year students applying for 2nd-year studies

  • Min 65% aggregate in June results
  • Min 65% 1st-year final results
  • Registered full-time student

Third-year students applying for Honours degrees

    • Min 68% average mid-year results
    • Min 68% final year results
    • On track for acceptance
