The Sasol Bursary Programme funds full-time undergraduate studies in Engineering and Science at approved South African public universities, targeting high-performing South African citizens pursuing degrees for the 2027 academic year. The programme covers tuition and provides a living allowance, along with psychosocial support throughout the study period.
Fields of study include Chemical Engineering, Chemistry (Honours required), Civil Engineering, Data Science (Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Statistics), Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Geology (Honours required), Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering/Metallurgy (Honours required), and Mine Surveying (University of Johannesburg only).
Postgraduate bursaries (M.Sc., M.Eng., Ph.D.) are also available in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, supporting research in areas such as Fluid Dynamics, Reactor Technology, Separation Technology, Thermodynamics, Catalysis, Polymer Science, Environmental Science, Cyber Security, and Data Science, aligned with energy and circular economy transition goals.
This is a performance-based programme with a workback and/or payback obligation. Successful graduates may be employed within the Sasol Group through its Graduate Development Programme.
