SANSA offers postgraduate bursaries to promote science and engineering qualifications aligned with South Africa’s National Development Plan. The aim is to equip the country with critical STEM skills for sustainable development. These bursaries are targeted at Honours, Master’s, and Doctoral students pursuing studies in a wide range of science and engineering disciplines relevant to space and environmental sciences.

 

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen, aged 32 or younger
  • Must be pursuing or accepted into a STEM postgraduate programme in a relevant field
  • Must have achieved a minimum of 65% in the last year of studies or last examination
  • Required documentation:
    • Full official academic record (from 1st year to final or latest results)
    • Certified ID copy (within 3 months)
    • Official undergraduate student account statement or NSFAS letter
    • Master’s and Doctoral applicants must provide:
      • Testimonial from a lecturer or supervisor
      • Signed and dated research proposal (max 2 pages for Master’s, 4 pages for Doctoral)
