Overview/Details

The FASSET Employed Learner Bursary provides funding for employed learners in the FAS sector pursuing qualifications aligned with FASSET’s Sectorial Priority Occupations and Interventions (SPOI) List. The bursary supports studies at NQF Level 6 and above at public HET institutions or TVET colleges, covering tuition and prescribed textbooks up to a maximum of R50,000 per learner. The funding is available for one academic year—2025 or 2026—and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, taking academic performance into account.

Requirements

  • Must be employed in the FAS sector
  • Studying a qualification listed in the FASSET SPOI List
  • Registered at a public HET institution or TVET college
  • Enrolled in an NQF Level 6 or higher qualification
  • Not currently part of a FASSET-funded programme in the 2025/2026 financial year
  • Must submit all required documents (applications missing documents will be disqualified)

Mandatory Documents:

  • Certified ID Copy (not older than 6 months)
  • Certified highest qualification & academic record
  • Employment Confirmation Letter (not older than 3 months)
  • Proof of registration or admission from the institution
  • Medical report (if applicable, for disability – not older than 3 months)
