For the 2025 academic year, City Power is offering bursaries to students residing within the City of Johannesburg’s service area in Gauteng. The bursary aims to support students pursuing undergraduate qualifications in specific fields, with a commitment to fostering educational development within the community.

Requirements

  • South African citizenship
  • Residence within the City of Johannesburg service area, Gauteng province
  • Completed Matric with a minimum “C” symbol (60%)
  • Meeting the admission requirements of the chosen educational institution
  • Intending to study or currently studying towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the following fields:
    • Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current/ Light Current)
    • Environmental Health Management
    • Information Technology
    • Risk Management
  • Enrollment or intention to enroll at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology, or TVET College)
  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 60% if currently studying
  • Preference given to students studying at Universities or TVET Colleges in Gauteng, though those in other regions may also apply
