African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) is a leading South African diversified mining and minerals company, founded by Patrice Motsepe. ARM operates in sectors including iron ore, manganese ore, chrome ore, platinum group metals, nickel, and coal, with a commitment to sustainable development and community enrichment. The ARM Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year aims to support talented students pursuing undergraduate to honours degrees in specified fields at select South African universities. The bursary covers registration fees, tuition fees, textbooks, a laptop, accommodation in university residences, and meals for the entire duration of the study programme. This initiative seeks to develop skilled professionals who can contribute to the growth and success of the mining industry and the broader economy.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 21 days after the closing date. They may be required to attend a panel interview and participate in psychometric assessments before final selection. If no feedback is received within this period, consider the application unsuccessful.

 

Requirements

  • South African citizenship
  • Completed Matric
  • Currently enrolled at one of the following universities:
  • Pursuing studies in one of the specified fields:
    • Accounting
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Computer Sciences / Informatics
    • Electrical Engineering & Electronic Engineering
    • Geology
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Information Technology
    • Law
    • Mechanical Engineering & Mechatronic Engineering
    • Metallurgical Engineering
    • Mining Engineering
    • Built Environment
  • Completed the first year of study and entering the second or higher year (up to Honours level) in 2025
  • Strong academic record
  • Not currently receiving any other bursary funding
