Get a Bonus on Your Nelson Mandela University Application
Did you go to a quintile 1, 2, or 3 school and get 50% or higher for Life Orientation (LO) in your final matric exams? You could get a 7-point bonus on your Nelson Mandela University (NMU) Applicant Score (AS)!
Why do you get the Bonus?
NMU understands that students from non-fee-paying schools often have different subject choices. Life Orientation isn't usually part of the APS calculation for most students, so NMU offers this bonus to make things fairer.
How it Works
- Calculate your base APS: Use the NMU APS calculator to get your score out of 600, without including Life Orientation.
- Check if you qualify: If you went to a quintile 1, 2, or 3 school and got 50% or higher for LO, you get the bonus.
- Add 7 points: Add 7 points to your base APS from step 1. This new score, out of 607, is your final AS.
Important Note: NMU will automatically add the 7-point bonus if you qualify.
