The Diploma in Journalism at TUT trains students in print, broadcast, industrial, and online journalism — producing graduates equipped to report, write, edit, and present news and features across South Africa's diverse and rapidly evolving media landscape. Students develop news judgment, investigative skills, multimedia storytelling, and media ethics in a country where press freedom and accountability journalism are constitutionally important and professionally in demand. The programme provides practical training in digital journalism, radio, and television production, with cooperative education in newsrooms and media houses across Johannesburg and Pretoria. Graduates are eligible to work across public, community, and commercial media organisations.
