The BEngTech in Mechatronics Engineering at TUT integrates mechanical, electronic, and software engineering to develop graduates who can design and maintain automated systems, robotics, and intelligent machines. As South Africa's manufacturing sector modernises and fourth industrial revolution technologies become mainstream, mechatronics graduates are increasingly sought by automotive plants, mining operations, food processing facilities, and technology companies. Students complete cooperative education in automated production environments and gain skills in PLC programming, robotics, computer vision, and embedded systems. The programme is structured for ECSA accreditation and professional technologist registration.
