The Bachelor of Environmental Health at TUT prepares students to identify, assess, and control environmental factors that affect public health — from food safety and water quality to air pollution and occupational hygiene. Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) are statutory public health professionals, employed primarily by South African municipalities and the Department of Health, who enforce the National Health Act and related legislation. The four-year programme includes structured workplace experience and prepares graduates for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
