The Jump Start Your Career Bursary Programme is a one-year initiative by PwC SATIC aimed at empowering high-potential students from marginalised communities who face financial challenges. Beginning January 2026, this programme provides financial assistance, skills development, mentorship, and access to professional certification; all designed to prepare participants for meaningful careers in the professional and technology sectors.

Bursary Covers:

  • Full tuition fees for the 2026 academic year (subject to a cap at PwC’s discretion)
  • Partial accommodation and book costs (based on discretion)
  • Access to exclusive workshops via PwC’s learning platform
  • Mentorship by PwC professionals
  • Networking opportunities with industry leaders

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens or permanent residents
  • Be aged between 18–35
  • Be in their final year of undergraduate or postgraduate studies in 2026
  • Maintain a minimum academic average of 65%
  • Have no criminal record and a clean credit history (MIE background checks will be done)
  • Show leadership potential, community involvement, and participation in extracurriculars

Participant Responsibilities:

  • Attend all scheduled training, workshops, and development sessions
  • Participate in mentorship and coaching with PwC SATIC “buddies”
  • Complete a professional certification (sponsored by PwC)
  • Deliver tasks and projects within set deadlines
  • Collaborate with other bursary recipients and programme staff
  • Show active commitment to both personal and professional development
