Details

The Extended Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at UJ is a five-year professional degree that qualifies graduates to be admitted as attorneys or advocates in South Africa, with an additional foundational year supporting students who demonstrate potential for legal study but require further academic preparation. The programme covers the full spectrum of South African law including constitutional law, criminal law, contract law, property law, and procedure — with the extended first year providing additional academic scaffolding in legal reasoning and literacy. The LLB is the only undergraduate qualification that admits graduates to the legal profession in South Africa.
