The Baccalaureus Legum (LLB) at the University of Venda is a professional law degree that qualifies graduates for admission as attorneys or advocates of the High Court of South Africa. Students study constitutional law, criminal law, contract law, property law, law of evidence, administrative law, and human rights law, with a strong emphasis on South Africa's transformative constitutional order and the legal challenges facing communities in rural Limpopo and beyond. UNIVEN's School of Law hosts the Ismael Mahomed Centre for Human and People's Rights, providing students with exposure to human rights litigation and legal aid in a community context.
