The Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Venda provides a scientific and applied foundation in psychological theory, research, and practice, preparing students to understand human behaviour, cognition, and mental health in diverse South African contexts. Students study developmental, clinical, social, and organisational psychology alongside research methods and psychological assessment, building the foundation for postgraduate training leading to professional registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). South Africa's significant mental health burden — including trauma, substance dependency, and depression — and the shortage of registered psychologists make this programme increasingly important.

Registered Counsellor (HPCSA) – Provides psychological support and basic counselling services in community health, school, and employee wellness settings after completing postgraduate registration training.
Clinical Psychologist – Assesses, diagnoses, and treats mental health conditions in hospitals, private practice, and community mental health centres after completing master’s-level training and internship.
Educational Psychologist – Supports learner development, learning difficulties, and school-related psychological challenges in schools and education support centres.
Industrial/Organisational Psychologist – Applies psychological principles to recruitment, leadership development, and employee wellness in corporate and government organisations.
Research Psychologist – Conducts psychological research on mental health, behaviour, and social issues at universities, research councils, and health institutions in South Africa.
