Details

The Diploma in Civil Engineering at Walter Sisulu University is a three-year qualification offered at the Buffalo City and Butterworth campuses. It trains graduates to become competent civil engineering technicians capable of meeting the criteria for registration as Candidate Engineering Technicians with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Students develop the knowledge and practical skills to identify and solve well-defined civil engineering problems — in areas such as hydraulics, geotechnics, structural design, and transportation — working as part of an engineering team under remote supervision. South Africa's infrastructure investment programme creates ongoing demand for qualified civil engineering technicians in both the public and private sectors.
