The Bachelor of Architecture at TUT is a four-year professional degree that trains students in architectural design, construction technology, building science, and urban context — with a strong emphasis on socially responsive design relevant to South Africa's built environment challenges. Students work through increasingly complex design studios, developing the skills to create functional, sustainable, and culturally appropriate buildings for a country where housing, infrastructure, and urban development are national priorities. The programme is structured to lead toward professional registration with SACAP (South African Council for the Architectural Profession). Graduates can articulate to postgraduate study (MArch) or pursue professional registration as architectural technologists and private practitioners.
