The BEd Senior Phase and Further Education and Training (Humanities Stream) at Nelson Mandela University is a four-year degree preparing teachers to specialise in language, social sciences, and humanities subjects for Grades 7 to 12. Students choose FET specialisations from Afrikaans, English, isiXhosa, History, and Geography, with SP specialisations in languages and Social Science. Given South Africa's multilingual context and the need for quality language and humanities instruction across all provinces, graduates of this programme are in consistent demand in both urban and rural schools.
