The BSc Augmented Programme at UKZN (Pietermaritzburg and Westville) is a four-year extended curriculum that spreads first-year science content over two years, providing additional academic support and development for students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds who show strong potential. Available exclusively to students from Quintile 1 and 2 schools, the programme bridges the gap between school and university science with extra tutorials and foundational coursework. Successful completion allows students to continue into any mainstream BSc stream, opening the same career pathways as the standard three-year degree.
