The Bachelor of Arts in Language Practice at the University of Venda trains students in the applied use of language — including translation, interpreting, editing, and language facilitation — across South Africa's eleven official languages and beyond. The programme develops practical language skills alongside theoretical knowledge of linguistics and communication, preparing graduates for careers in a multilingual society where language access is central to justice, education, and service delivery. UNIVEN's Limpopo setting provides immersion in Tshivenda, Sepedi, and Xitsonga alongside English, making the programme especially relevant for working in underserved language communities.

Language Editor – Reviews and refines written content for grammar, style, and linguistic accuracy for publishers, government departments, and corporate communication teams.
Language Practitioner (Government) – Supports official language policy implementation in national and provincial government departments as required by the Use of Official Languages Act.
Language Researcher – Studies language use, patterns, and policy in academic, media, and development contexts for universities and research institutions.
