The Bachelor of Philosophy in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at NWU Potchefstroom is a three-year interdisciplinary degree that combines three of the most powerful analytical frameworks for understanding society, governance, and the economy. Economist / Policy Adviser – Advise government departments, the National Treasury, or development finance institutions on economic policy, fiscal strategy, and development programmes in South Africa.
Diplomat / Foreign Affairs Officer – Represent South Africa’s interests internationally through the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) after completing the required recruitment process.
Journalist / Political Correspondent – Report on South African politics, economic affairs, and governance for major media houses, investigative journalism platforms, or international publications.
Senior Government Official – Progress into executive or strategic roles in South African national and provincial government, drawing on PPE’s interdisciplinary foundations in philosophy, governance, and economics.
