Details

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at the University of Mpumalanga is a three-year degree that equips students to understand, monitor, and manage the natural environment amid the pressures of climate change, pollution, mining, and rapid development. Students study ecology, environmental chemistry, earth science, GIS, environmental law, and natural resource management, developing the interdisciplinary skills needed to address South Africa's most pressing environmental challenges. Mpumalanga is at the centre of some of South Africa's most significant environmental issues — including coal mining impacts, air quality problems in the Highveld, and the management of the Kruger's water catchments — providing a uniquely relevant backdrop for environmental science study. Graduates are equipped for careers in environmental consulting, government conservation, and research.
