The Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences (Extended) with majors in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics offers a strengthened entry pathway for students with strong mathematical aptitude who benefit from additional academic preparation in their first year. The programme develops pure and applied mathematical reasoning, equipping graduates for postgraduate study, secondary school teaching, or careers in mathematical consulting, financial modelling, and scientific research. Extended programmes at UJ are exclusively available to first-time entering students with no prior higher education enrolment.
