Overview/Details

The ELIDZ bursary aims to support academically deserving students from disadvantaged backgrounds within the Eastern Cape. It promotes higher education in Mathematics, Science, and Technology-related fields to build critical skills for regional development. The bursary, valued at R50,000, covers tuition, prescribed books, accommodation, and meals for full-time undergraduate studies at a recognized South African university.

Requirements

  • South African citizen or naturalized citizen.
  • Resident of the Eastern Cape (townships or villages).
  • Currently in Grade 12 or in possession of a National Senior Certificate (NSC).
  • Minimum 60% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and an overall average of 60% for other subjects.
  • Accepted or provisionally accepted to study full-time in a Mathematics, Science, or Technology-related undergraduate program at a South African university.
  • Aged between 16 and 25 years.
  • Financial need demonstrated through supporting documents.
