The BEng in Civil Engineering at Stellenbosch University prepares students to design, construct, and manage the infrastructure that underpins modern society — roads, bridges, dams, water systems, buildings, and sanitation networks. South Africa faces significant infrastructure backlogs in water, transport, and housing, and civil engineers are central to national development programmes including the Government's Infrastructure Investment Plan. The curriculum covers structural engineering, geotechnics, hydraulics, transportation, and construction management. Graduates are eligible to register as Professional Engineers with ECSA.
