The Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Care and Education at the University of Pretoria is a four-year professional degree that prepares graduates to care for and educate young children from birth to Grade R in early childhood development (ECD) centres and community settings. Students develop expertise in child development theory, play-based learning, family engagement, nutrition and health in ECD, curriculum for young children, and the management of ECD programmes. Admission requirements: English (Home or First Additional Language): Level 5 (60-69%); Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy: Level 3 (40-49%); APS: 28 (excluding Life Orientation).
