The Diploma in Consumer Sciences in Food and Nutrition at DUT prepares graduates to apply scientific food and nutrition knowledge alongside culinary skills across food production, retail, and service environments. The programme develops competence in nutrition science, food science, food safety legislation, consumer behaviour, and management — producing graduates who can contribute to South Africa's food industry, public health initiatives, and growing wellness sector. Students must register as a Hepatitis vaccination requirement and will work with professional food production equipment.
