Overview/Details

The SAIV bursary supports students pursuing property valuation qualifications at institutions accredited by the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP). It aims to assist financially needy students, especially those entering their second year or pursuing postgraduate studies in the valuation field. The bursary is not automatically renewable and must be applied for annually. Funds are paid directly to the educational institution, and bursary holders may be required to assist with SAIV-aligned activities.

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be a member of SAIV.
  • Must be registered at a tertiary institution accredited by SACPVP.
  • Must be studying towards a property valuation qualification.
  • Must have passed at least three first-year valuation-related subjects and be entering second year or beyond. Postgraduate students may also apply.
  • Must not be receiving any other financial assistance.
  • Must be in financial need.
  • Must submit:
    • Certified copy of ID & matric certificate
    • Proof of registration
    • Fee account or quotation
    • Academic results from the previous year
    • List of subjects still to be completed
    • Candidate Valuer registration certificate (if applicable)

Instructions/Additional Information

  1. Submit completed application (with all supporting documents) to your SAIV branch’s General Manager’s Office before 31 October.
  2. Branch reviews, interviews applicant, and makes a recommendation to the NATEX Education Committee.
  3. Provisional approval granted in November, subject to:
    • Satisfactory exam results
    • Availability of funds
  4. Exam results due by the second Friday of January.
  5. Final approval and payment confirmed by the third Friday of January.
