The SIOC Community Development Trust (SIOC-CDT) is the community development trust of Sishen Iron Ore Company (SIOC), a subsidiary of Kumba Iron Ore, which is itself part of the Anglo American group. Established to invest in the communities surrounding SIOC’s iron ore mining operations in the Northern Cape and Limpopo, SIOC-CDT has been operating for 20 years and has grown into one of the more impactful mining community development trusts in South Africa.
