The BEd (Senior Phase and FET: Information Technology) at TUT prepares teachers to deliver Computer Applications Technology and Information Technology to Grade 7 to Grade 12 learners, developing digital literacy and programming skills that are essential for South Africa's participation in the fourth industrial revolution. With widespread digital skills shortages across the economy, IT teachers occupy a strategically critical role in equipping the next generation of South African workers and innovators. Students develop content knowledge in programming, data management, networks, and system design alongside secondary school pedagogy. The programme includes school-based practicals in ICT-equipped classrooms in Gauteng and Limpopo.
