The BEngTech in Industrial Engineering at TUT develops applied skills in operations management, ergonomics, quality systems, production planning, supply chain, and human factors engineering — disciplines that improve organisational efficiency across manufacturing, mining, logistics, and services in South Africa. Students engage in work-integrated learning placements in South African industries, applying engineering management tools to real production environments. The programme is structured for ECSA accreditation and prepares graduates to register as Engineering Technicians or Technologists and work as managers, consultants, or entrepreneurs. Industrial engineering graduates are valued across virtually every sector of the South African economy.
