The Bachelor of Health Sciences in Environmental Health at DUT is a four-year professional degree producing Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) who protect and promote public health through the control of physical, chemical, and biological environmental hazards. EHPs investigate food safety, water quality, occupational health, port health, pollution control, and housing conditions — working across municipal health departments, government agencies, mining houses, and food manufacturers. DUT's programme equips graduates for a profession that is dynamic, community-focused, and critical to South Africa's public health infrastructure.
