The Extended Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Venda is a four-year programme that provides additional academic preparation in the first year before students progress into the full BSc Biochemistry and Microbiology curriculum. It is designed for students who show strong potential but require foundational support in the sciences before engaging with the full rigour of the degree. Graduates develop expertise in biological molecules, cellular processes, microbial biology, and laboratory sciences applicable to health, food, and environmental sectors across South Africa.
