The Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and FET Teaching (Creative Arts English) at Walter Sisulu University is a four-year professional teaching degree that trains educators to teach the Creative Arts learning area with an English language and literary focus within Grades 7 to 12. Located at the Mthatha campus, the programme combines subject content knowledge in English and the performing or visual arts with pedagogical theory and practical school-based experience. It responds to South Africa's critical need for qualified Creative Arts teachers, particularly in the Eastern Cape, where artistic and cultural education remains underprioritised. Applicants without Music at matric level will be required to complete an audition and Music Aptitude Test.
