This qualification prepares students to teach language subjects in the Senior Phase (Grades 7–9) and Further Education and Training phase (Grades 10–12) of the South African schooling system. It develops competencies in language pedagogy, linguistics, and literature, equipping graduates to teach subjects such as English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, or other official South African languages. The programme aligns with the CAPS curriculum and prepares graduates for registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
