The Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication at UJ is a three-year degree offered by the Department of Strategic Communication, one of the most active communication departments in South Africa. The programme focuses on the planning, management, and evaluation of communication in corporate, government, and NGO contexts — covering public relations, marketing communication, internal communication, and digital strategy.
As South African organisations increasingly recognise communication as a strategic function, demand for professionally trained strategic communicators continues to grow. The degree equips graduates to work as corporate communicators, public relations practitioners, brand managers, and communication researchers in both public and private sectors.
Admission requires a minimum APS of 28 (excluding Life Orientation) and at least 60% in English. NCV applicants are not considered for this programme. Selection is based on academic merit.
